Ledeganckkaai in Antwerp, Belgium
Spread out over 7 zones of the Scheldt quay project, improvements and renovation works are being carried out in the Antwerp port area. A completely new quay wall will be realized at the site of the Ledeganckkaai. In order to ensure that the quay does not lose its characteristic appearance, characteristic, historical style elements are later placed back on the new structure.
In order to obtain a good picture of the soil conditions at the quay wall, GSNED has, up to now, carried out some 36 probings for up to 10 meters under the sediment at the request of Artes Roegiers in Kruibeke, but this number will still rise steadily. The already completed soundings were carried out using sounding equipment from a pontoon with measurement of cone resistance and adhesive.
